Chicken wings are one of those meals that bring everyone to the table. They’re fun, flavorful, and can be dressed up with all kinds of sides. In our house, we love pairing wings with sliced carrots, a drizzle of homemade ranch, and some crispy homemade french fries. It’s the kind of meal that feels like a treat, but is still simple enough to pull together on a weeknight.
Of course, when little ones are eating with us, we always make sure to prep their wings in a way that’s safe and easy to enjoy. By removing the meat from the bone and cutting it into bite-sized pieces, kids can share the same meal as the rest of the family—without the worry.
Here’s our go-to recipe for crispy chicken wings, plus tips on how to make them safe for kids at the table.

Crispy Chicken Wings Recipe
Ingredients
2 lbs chicken wings
Kinder’s All Purpose Seasoning (or your favorite all-purpose blend)
2 tbsp avocado oil
Directions
Prep the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel.
Season: In a large bowl, coat the wings evenly with Kinder’s All Purpose Seasoning and avocado oil.
Pan-sear: Heat an iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the wings and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side.
Bake: Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
Rest & serve: Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving.
Making Wings Safe for Kids
Bones and little mouths don’t mix well, but with a little extra effort, you can turn wings into the perfect kid-friendly meal. Here’s how:
Remove the meat: Once the wings have cooled slightly, use a fork (or your clean hands) to carefully pull the meat away from the bone.
Check for small pieces: Double-check for tiny bone fragments or cartilage before serving.
Cut into bites: Chop or shred the meat into small, manageable pieces that are easy for your child to chew.
Serve with sides: Pair with kid-approved favorites like carrot sticks, homemade ranch, or homemade fries for a meal that feels special but is still balanced.
